Chandler, Hidy, and Moser, all respected typographers, printers, and illustrators write about the influence the publisher, sculptor, designer, and illustrator Leonard Baskin had on their development as artists.

Profusely illustrated in color and b/w. The story of Abbe's contributions to printing, book design, typography, photography, writing and teaching. The book covers her early years as a book designer at several university presses, her life in the household of William Addison and Mabel Dwiggins, the joint publishing venture between Abbe and Dwiggins, as well as her self-taught venture into portrait and landscape photography, and the publication of her two important texts: The Dwiggins Marionettes and Stenciled Ornaments.
